There are three basic things that determine how you are charged

Card Type

A debit card is different to run than a normal credit card. A rewards card is different than a commercial card, etc.
Transaction Type

This is how you run the card, mainly whether it is swiped or keyed-in a terminal or online.
Industry Type

The industry type - the requirements of a restaurant or hotel are different than a retail store.

Payment Solutions By Transaction Type

Swipe (Card Present)
Card-present transactions are those in which both the card and cardholder are present at the point of sale and the card's magnetic stripe is swiped through a terminal.
Phone & Mail Order (Card Not Present)
A transaction where the card is not present at the time of the transaction (such as mail order or telephone order) and the credit card data is manually entered into a terminal by the merchant.
eCommerce (Card Not Present)
E-commerce- A transaction where the card is not present at the time of the transaction and the credit card data is manually entered into a terminal by the customer.
Alternative Payment Options
Transactions where there is no credit card used for the transaction and payments are fully integrated into the NDMS platform; such as PayPal, Google checkout, Western union, ACH or Bill Me Later.
